PARS Connect Mobile view is optimised for small handheld devices such as mobile phones. The core features of PARS Connect are available in mobile view, allowing you to access PARS from the palm of your hand.
The mobile view can be access either from the login page by clicking the mobile icon before logging in, or by clicking the mobile icon on the top toolbar of PARS Connect after logging in.
The house icon at the top left of mobile view allows you to go back to the mobile view homepage from any other page.
You can switch back to the classic PARS view at any time by tapping the "Classic" button at the bottom right of the page from mobile view, or by logging out of PARS and clicking the PC icon before logging back in.
Contents
Notices
The notices page will show you a list of the notices in your inbox, both read and unread. Notices are ordered by date, with the newest at the top. Tap on a notice to open it and see the full details.
Some notices will have links that you can tap, such as behaviour referrals (to see the details of the incident) and grading reminders (to enter the missing grades).
Registers
By default the registers page will show you today's registers. You can use the date selector at the top of the page to select a different date if required. You can also tap on your name at the top of the page in order to view and/or take other staff members' registers (your ability to do this is dependent on your permissions). Tap on a register to open it.
When the register opens, you will see a notice telling you if any pupils have upcoming detentions, are on report, or have any notices.
Each pupil's name will appear in the register; tap on a name once to mark a pupil present, and a second time to mark them absent. Alternatively, you can tap on the attendance code itself to see all the attendance codes available to you.
Next to each pupil's name you will also see icons telling you if they have any notices, if they have received any behaviour incdients today, if they have upcoming detentions or if they are on report.

Grading
You can use mobile view to enter grades for classes or groups in PARS. Select the class that you're interested in and you will be taken to the grade entry screen.
At the top of the page there is a student selector; in mobile view you enter grades for pupils on at a time. Select a pupil and their active grade elements will display. When you tap on an element, a box will appear at the bottom of the page with a list of the grades that can be entered. Tap on the grade to enter it.
You can also enter comments. Either tap in the space underneath the name of the element to enter free text, or tap the magnifying glass button to the right to access the comment bank.
Behaviour
There are several features available in the behaviour section, which are explained below:
Add behaviour incidents
You can add positive, negative, neutral or cash in incidents via PARS mobile. Tap on the relevant kind of behaviour to open the behaviour entry page.
Work from top to bottom. The date is the date of the behaviour incident, and the period is the time during the day that it occurred. PARS will fill these fields in for you automatically. The category is a 'folder' of behaviour types, typically categories are called "Behaviour", "Attendance", "Work", etc. The ground is what the pupil has done and the outcome is what you are going to do about it. The location is the area in school where the incident took place.
You may be able to change the points value for a behaviour incident, and/or decide whether or not these points should also be awarded to the pupil's house. Your ability to change these settings is based on your permissions.
There is a comments box which allows you to add further comments regarding the incident. Some types of incident may always require you to enter a comment (this depends on the way that PARS has been configured in your school).
The referrals section at the bottom of the page allows you to refer the incident to another member of staff if you want them to take further action on the incident. Referrals should not be used for 'information-only' purposes, as behaviour alerts are better suited to this.
If you are adding a neutral or negative incident then you can also add a detention or removal, or place the pupil on report. Detentions and removals both use the same process, which is explained below.
To place a pupil on report, select the type of report that you want to place them on, as well as the date range over which they should be on report. Once done click the Add button. If you make a mistake, you can take a pupil off report by clicking the cross next to that report.
Add detentions
First select the pupils that you wish to issue a detention to. There is a dropdown at the top of the detentions page; use this to select the type of detention that you want to issue to the pupil(s). Once done tap Add. If you accidentally add the wrong kind of detention, make sure that the incorrect detention is selected in the dropdown at the top, then tap the Delete button.
If you are not using automatic detention scheduling (if you normally have to decide what date a detention takes place, rather than letting PARS do it automatically) then you will need to use the full version of PARS to schedule them. Detentions can be added via mobile view, but not manually scheduled.
Edit behaviour incidents
Select the pupil(s) whose behaviours incidents you want to edit. The edit behaviour page will load and you will see a list of all the relevant behaviour incidents. Next to each incident there is a cross which you can tap to delete the incident.
You can tap on an incident to edit it. This will open the behaviour entry page where you can amend any details as needed.
Referrals
There are options to either collect your own behaviours referrals, or to view the referrals that you have sent to other staff members.
When you are viewing your own referrals, you will see a list of open behaviour incidents. You can tap on the incident to view the details, and make and amendments as necessary. Incidents can be deleted by tapping the cross button.
Once you have finished dealing with a referral, you should mark it as closed. To do this, tap the status switch on the left side of the incident, so that the tick is white with a blue background.
When you are viewing the referrals you have sent to others, you will have the same options as above except that you will not be able to mark the referral as closed; that is the job of the recipient.
Assignment diary

The personal tab shows basic details about the pupil. Their age, date of birth, photo and name will be shown, as well as other details such as their home address, Pupil Premium status, medical conditions and more.

This tab shows the contact details for each of the pupil's contacts, as taken from SIMS. If any of the details seen here are incorrect then they will also be incorrect in SIMS.

If the pupil has any SEN information then it will be shown here.
Extras
The extras tab shows the pupil's permissions from SIMS, such as permission to provide sex education or photograph the child.
Lates
The lates feature allows you to mark pupils late to either their AM or PM session. Lateness to lesson or form period should be recorded via the registers. Select the pupil that you want to mark, and the session (AM or PM). This will open a window where you can record the number of minutes that the pupil was late.
