Maintain attendance codes

In PARS you can use custom attendance codes instead of those provided by the DfES to give additional information. This can only be done for lessons and not for your AM/PM sessions, which are statutory marks required by law.

Adding and editing custom attendance codes

To create a new attendance code or edit an existing one, click the "Add" or "Edit" button from the top toolbar. This will open a window where you can define the characteristics of the code.

Code
This is the code that will be given to pupils

Description
This is an explanation of the code e.g. In an exam

Link to reg mark
Custom attendance codes must be linked to actual attendance codes so that PARS can calculate percentage attendance for pupils. You can choose from any of the DfES codes

Active
If a custom attendance code is active then it can be used. Mark a code inactive if you do not want any staff to use it. However if you want to restrict only certain staff from using your custom attendance codes, you should edit the users' permissions
