Parents evenings

Grades can be recorded through PARS. You can then run reports on these grades using Standard grade reports or Custom grade reports, analyse them using key indicators, or generate reports for parents (Customised reports|click here for examples).

Grades entered via PARS can write back to SIMS if needed, or can live in PARS only. In any case, you will need to have configured grading elements before staff can enter grades.

PARS main menu > Grading > Grade entry > Enter grades

The enter grades page can also be accessed from within a register, by clicking the "Grades" button.

Parents Evenings is an additional feature in Insight, which allows parents to make bookings with staff for parents evenings on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Parents Evening page will show a list of staff that are available for the evening, and a list of the appointments that the parent has made so far. Parents will see a list of times next to each staff member, which represent available slots to see that member of staff. You can also upload a document for parents to download for guidance - which may be a floor plan of the area used for the parents evening, or guidance for using Insight.

Parents can make bookings with staff by clicking the time that they want, next to the staff member's name. There will also be an icon showing the subject for each teacher and a tick next to any teacher with whom the parent already has an appointment. You can set a maximum number of bookings per parent if required.

When configuring the parents evening you can choose to allow agenda setting. This means that parents will be able to leave notes for staff explaining what they would like to talk about.
