The forum can be viewed and managed locally, new topics can be added - topics can be turned on or off. Replies can be posted- the ability to post replies can be turned on or off. Replies can be edited- the edit facility can be switched on or off.

Use this page to administer forums to allow users to converse and provide feedback.  
To have access to forums check in Roles and then Forums.

To add a forum, click on the "Add" button.
See setting up Roles to confirm access rights.

To edit an existing forum, select the forum form the list and click the "Edit" button.
To add a forum click the speech bubbles with the +, a new forum box appears, enter a title name and description for the new forum.  I.e. parent voice, parent topics or staff topics etc.

Select Active to enable and see the title

A forum will need a title and a description.  You can set a forums visibility to off which hides it and all related posts completely, but obviously for a new forum you would want this onSimilarly a locked forum can be viewed but not added to, so again this should be off for new forums.
Select Locked to stop any further posts, you are still able to read previous posts.

New Title’s appear together with their settings plus the number of threads and posts.

Only non-administrative users can add topics to a forum, by adding a new post to the forum.
Click on the Title to select, each topic is displayed with the date started, is it visible, has it been locked or has anyone been reported.

If you need to start a topic, you will need to create an ad-hoc non-administrative user for this purpose.
