In the absence of another way of recording issued assignments, homework or similar, and giving parent's access to this information, you can use Insight's Assignments subsystem to do this.

Each Assignment must have a title, an issued date and the date which the Assignment is due back in. You can specify some easily digested Detail, and most importantly, select for whom the Assignment is intended.

To add a new Assignment, click on the "Add" tool bar button. Enter the title, dates and detail. Then move onto the Assignees tab and select the class or classes to which the Assignment will apply. If you need to finer control over the students within the class to whom the Assignment will apply, use the "Edit" button to re-open the assignment details pop up.

On the Edit pop up, you can change the status of the individual Assignees to show one from a selection of icons. The folder icon means the Assignment applies; the red cross means the Assignment does not apply. Other than these you can select between a folder with a tick indicating completion, or a folder with a warning triangle which simply denotes an exception.

It is possible for a pupil to add assignment evidence such as a completed assignment or supporting assignment documents to INSIGHT.

This functionality can be accessed via a small ICON1.png icon shown in the 'Evidence' row of the 'Assignment' list.

To access this list navigate to the 'Assignments' option within the 'General' Menu item of INSIGHT.
