Restrictive Interventions in Schools – Staying Compliant
The guidance on restrictive interventions in schools has been updated by the The Department for Education (DfE), including the use of reasonable force and seclusion. From April 2026, there is a much stronger emphasis on how incidents are recorded, reported, and monitored. For schools, this means compliance is no longer just about having a policy in place — it requires clear, consistent processes supported by reliable systems.
