For those students who it is deemed acceptable to self register, TALAXY allows them to mark themselves as in school, or present to lessons by scanning QR codes positioned strategically around school.

Report cards support your school’s behaviour improvement plans by allowing staff to mark pupils placed “on report” on a lesson-by-lesson basis against targets set at the time. Although Talaxy’s Report Cards can be set up and completed as a stand-alone package, there is some value in the intrinsic links to Registers, Seating Plans and Conduct. Report cards can be so personalised that each student has their own set of targets, or as standardised as setting up a Head Teacher’s Report system.

Accessible from anywhere a student’s name is shown, it brings together all aspects of a student record into one holistic web page, which means information that previously meant a trek to the school office to find is now instantly available. So much is available that you may not want all staff to see everything – don’t worry, you can set permissions to allow and disallow access.

For teaching and learning to be improved, existing practices must be examined so that strengths and weaknesses can be identified and used to inform development.  Usually, the effectiveness of teaching methods are measured by student attainment and lesson observation.  Both are necessary and can be effective, but to complete the picture the other crucial element is the voice of the learner.

The Lesson Plan module allows teachers to plan, share or borrow lesson plans in a standardised format which is simple to learn and understand.  

• Create lesson plans in a single customisable but standardised format.

• Use subject-led topics and area headings such as Background, Objectives, Activities, Keys, Assessment, Support, Differentiation and Plenary to break the plan in to manageable, navigable and accessible pools.

• Clone lesson plans between classes and even across subjects where sensible.

• Prepared plans are accessible in the event of staff absence.

• Link plans to multiple lessons, using differentiations based on each classes’ membership and requirements.

When dealing with disruptive behaviour, medical emergencies or other circumstances where an extra pair of hands is required, staff can use the On Call system to ask for a little extra help.

• Allows staff to quickly request assistance, automatically including the staff members location but allowing specific students, the issues and the assistance required to be selected.

• Responders will be immediately informed, and will know in advance what to expect upon arrival, and with which kit or medicine enabling them to provide a proportionate and efficient response.

• Call outs are private and confidential, and staff are reassured that their request is being dealt with and by whom.

• Categorise callouts as disruption, injuries, medical emergencies, safeguarding issues or other categories of your own choosing.

• Analyse historic call-outs to identify patterns of behaviour.
