This file is found in the Windows directory on SIMS workstations and is used by PARS to locate various folders. To access the file click Start->Run, type "SIMS.ini" (no quotes) and hit Enter.
The lines that are important to PARS are:
[Setup] SIMSDirectory=s:\sims SIMSDotNetDirectory=c:\Program Files\SIMS\SIMS .net SIMSSetupsDirectory=s:\sims\setups
If any of these are incorrect then there is likely to be a problem when loading PARS.
The file can be edited with a text editor such as Notepad.
SIMS file server
The SIMS file server is the server that hosts the shared SIMS directory.
The directory is accessed around the school via a mapped network drive on each workstation.
The location of the SIMS file server is referred to in the SIMS.ini file on the line:
SIMSDIRECTORY=[etc]
