Typically each system comes with its own database that stores information about each pupil's fingerprint along with a unique id number for each pupil. If the reader system can return this unique number every time a pupil uses the reader, PARS is able to compare the number to another unique pupil id number found in the SIMS database and so can identify the pupil. The bulk of the configuration of the Biometrics system is therefore the process of matching up the unique pupil id numbers in both databases.
