This feature allows a ‘kick out’ of INSIGHT to take place which will remove all INSIGHT connections from the database and prevent users from logging back in until connections are allowed again. An instance of when a ‘kick out’ may be required is when updating SIMS. (Please note: a ‘kick out’ is not required when updating INSIGHT - just SIMS.)

Click on the 'prevent connections' button to kick all users out of INSIGHT. All users except for the user performing the ‘kick out’ will be kicked out of INSIGHT. The user performing this ‘kick out’ must stay logged in INSIGHT until the SIMS update has taken place and then when ready to allow SIMS connections click on the 'Allow connections' button to allow users to login to INSIGHT again. If the user performing the ‘kick out’ logs out of INSIGHT before 'allowing connections' again then the only way to log back in is by recycling INSIGHT from the service controller.
