The system settings page can only be accessed by the admin user. Various system-wide settings are configured on this page, which are explained below. Whilst logged into Cura, you can access this page by clicking the cog icon at the top right of the page, next to your username.

Proxy

The proxy section should contain your proxy details. For most schools, entering "DEFAULT" into the "Host" field will work, meaning the other three fields can be left blank. If this does not work, you will need to enter the correct proxy details for your school.

Once the details have been entered, click the "Save" button at the top right of the page, a message box will appear confirming "Your settings have been saved", and the page will now refresh. Please scroll back to the proxy section and then click the "Test" link. Cura will attempt to communicate with www.google.co.uk and www.tascsoftware.co.uk and will then inform you of the results. If both connections are successful, your proxy is set up correctly and will look like the image below.

If you see an error message here and you do not understand it, please send a screenshot to our online helpdesk.

Lock new concerns to clearance level

The admin user can force all the new concerns entered into cura to be locked to a certain clearance level. This setting is used if the establishment requires all concerns entered to be kept at a certain clearance level. In this example the setting is configured for level 5 meaning only individuals that have level 5 clearance can view the information. To turn this setting off please enter level 0.

SMTP mail

The SMTP mail section needs to be configured in order for Cura to send emails. It is essential to enter these details as users will need to receive emails in order to activate their accounts. Emails are also required to send and receive alerts, and to reset forgotten passwords.

When you have entered your details, click the Save button at the top right of the page, wait for the page to refresh scroll back to the SMTP section and then click the "Test" button to send a test email. You can specify an email address that the test will be sent to, and then Cura will show you the SMTP log results from that test.
An email will be sent from the Cura software informing the receiver with the information "This is a test email".

Mail header and footer

The header and footer options allow you to create text and/or images that will appear at the top or bottom of every email sent from Cura. You may wish to add a disclaimer in the footer or the school logo in the header.

For both the the header and footer you will see a standard editor like the one in the image above. You can select different fonts, colours and text sizes, as well as importing images, tables, and various other features.
