The system settings page can only be accessed by the admin user. Various system-wide settings are configured on this page, which are explained below. Whilst logged into Cura, you can access this page by clicking the cog icon at the top right of the page, next to your username and the version number.

Proxy

The proxy section should contain your proxy details. For most schools, entering "DEFAULT" into the Proxy field will work, meaning the other three fields can be left blank. If this does not work, you will need to enter the correct proxy details for your school.

Once the details have been entered, click the Save button at the top right of the page and then click the "Test" link. Cura will attempt to communicate with www.google.co.uk and www.tascsoftware.co.uk and will then inform you of the results. If both connections are successful, your proxy is set up correctly.

Site

Here you simply need to enter your LEA and School name. These details will be used to validate your licence.

Licence

The licence section will show you your licence details if Cura is able to detect your licence details. If there are problems connecting to the internet or if your details cannot be retrieved, the reasons will be shown here. If you see an error message here and you do not understand it, please send a screenshot to our online helpdesk.

SMTP mail

The SMTP mail section needs to be configured in order for Cura to send emails. This will be required if your staff wish to receive alerts via email or if anybody forgets their password.

When you have entered your details, click the "Test" link to send a test email. You can specify an email address that the test will be sent to, and then Cura will show you the SMTP log results from that test.

Mail header and footer

The header and footer options allow you to create text and/or images that will appear at the top or bottom of every email sent from Cura. You may wish to add a disclaimer in the footer or the school logo in the header.

For both the the header and footer you will see a standard editor like the one in the image above. You can select different fonts, colours and text sizes, as well as importing images, tables, and various other features.
