BWS made the transition from mixed online and paper-based systems after years of running a combination in order to create a single point of contact for parents, students and staff. After evaluating several systems, the decision was taken to use INSIGHT and PARS
The ROI was almost instant as parents fully engaged with INSIGHT (we have over 90% engagement per week across all seven years) allowing them tailored access to real time attendance information, contact details, homework, exam entries, parents evening bookings, cashless catering, finance systems, notification of distinctions and detentions and end of year reports as well as any important day to day notices sent by admin staff.
The students’ home page is set to INSIGHT and all homework set by teachers is available to view; no more excuses about not writing it down!! Students also have access to their individual exam timetables, either mocks or summer exams, ensuring no more confusion with clashes, class timetables, after school clubs, messages, attendance, lunch menus, catering balances etc.
Staff use INSIGHT to set homework, manage forums and administer parents evenings while also using PARS on mobile devices to take registers, manage biometric registers in Sixth Form and set detentions.
Admin and pastoral staff are all power users of PARS, automating many processes that used to take up hours of their days: the late report, missing registers and the powerful custom report tool means many reports are now generated and emailed automatically rather than depending on using the SIMS client.
BWS is currently two years into this project and couldn’t function efficiently without INSIGHT /PARS, leaving staff, parents and students to wonder how we managed before. With the first class support team (Grant and Liam, this one’s for you!) and the ability to evolve the product through enhancement requests, I, as the Network Manager, and BWS as a whole, couldn’t recommend TASC highly enough.
