With 4 daughter’s and my Mum hat on; how many logins to various software systems do I really need?
If I want to check homework, dinner money, behaviour rewards, maths homework, spelling or look at latest newsletter via the school VLE, it equates to 3 different usernames (not all email addresses) and 7 passwords .. for just one of my girls!
So, even in my role at TASC Software, I give up. Not only have I given up trying to remember, the staff have given up logging data and homework, behaviour has reverted back to a planner.
Unfortunately her school is not a SIMS user else I would be knocking on the door with INSIGHT.
INSIGHT providing 1 login for all data more would be a blessing. Easy access to all the information in one place and whilst checking her homework I can have a quick look at her behaviour and reports. Surely that is the correct way to ENGAGE parents? INSIGHT allows for quick urls which would be great also for her online curriculum studies. I certainly can’t remember all the website addresses and I have 100’s of bookmarks.
To top it all, school reports are sent in the post – 76p each and letters 56p. Those 2 letters cost more to send in the post than INSIGHT per child per year. All this paperwork each year; my cupboards are literally bursting.
What does your school do? How many software systems do your parents have to log in to? How do you communicate with your parents/guardians.
